The points box controls the spark duration and the power that is distributed during the firing sequence. Energy from the generator is controlled with field effect transistor technology which is far superior to mags using points as a trigger source.

Points box also has a built in rev limiter with plug in rpm modules. With a rev limiter it will save your expensive race engine from extensive damage should over rev occur during missed shifts or drivetrain failure.

Included are vibration mounts with the ignition box. What the endurance use box was designed for was off road or boat racing where the vehicle is taking more of a pounding that a typical asphalt situation and it has been sealed up better for moisture protection.
