The pickup simply slides over the number one spark plug wire and senses each firing of the spark plug. The fiber optic cable connects to the MSD Control while providing a clean signal that will not interfere with other electronics. No phasing or alignment is required with this pickup.
With this information, the MSD can begin your unique timing sequence through each cylinder! MSD offers two ways to accomplish this: Spark plug wire sync kits and cam sync pickups.
