Simply install in place of the valve spring and unscrew the micrometer until the slop is taken from the valve seat, valve keepers and retainers take your reading off the tool and you are done. This tool is designed to do 1.800" thru 2.700" installed spring heights so you can pretty much cover all racing applications.
Micrometer reads in .005" increments and tool is knurled for an easy grip during use.
